Under the direct supervision of the Senior Supply & Logistics Manager, the Logistics Specialist coordinates and provides technical oversight for logistics, warehousing and distribution operations for UNICEF South Sudan Country Office. The role supports the effective movement, storage and delivery of supplies across the country programme and emergency response, including inbound shipment coordination, customs clearance, warehousing, inventory management, transport planning, last-mile distribution and logistics contract management. The Logistics Specialist works closely with supply, programme, operations, field office colleagues, government counterparts, implementing partners and service providers to ensure timely, efficient, accountable and fit-for-purpose logistics support for results for children

Minimum requirements

Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Supply/Purchasing, business administration, management, economics, supply chain management, logistics, procurement, law, international development, public health, social science and any other related fields.
Work Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience in Supply Management/Contracting/Logistics, Supply Management, logistics management, supply chain management, warehouse management, inventory management, transport management, customs compliance, emergency response, humanitarian operations, distribution management, stakeholder management and any other related fields.
Skills: Humanitarian Logistics, Customs Clearance, Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Dashboard Reporting
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables

Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable and knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
