How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Chief Field Office, the Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.

Minimum requirements:

Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Education, Psychology, Sociology and any other related fields.
Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Education Programme Management, Humanitarian Assistance, Education Governance, Early Childhood Education, Access to Education, Education Information and Data Management, Non-formal Education, Learning Outcomes Improvement and any other related fields.
Skills: Experience in education programme planning, education programme implementation, programme monitoring, partnership development, disaster risk reduction and knowledge management.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic languages is required.

Desirables:

Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
Relevant experience with UN system agency or organization is an asset.
Experience with education in emergencies is an asset.
Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an asset.
