How can you make a difference?

You, as the Construction Officer, report to the Construction Manager as per the Country Office (CO) set‑up and are responsible for providing technical support to construction activities of the country office. Your support includes planning, procurement support, and monitoring of construction works on site. You collaborate closely with UNICEF Programme and Operations colleagues to define construction interventions that meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children.

Minimum requirements

Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Engineering-Civil, Engineering-Structural, Engineering, construction engineering, architecture and any other related fields.
Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, Construction, Construction Management, Procurement, Contract Management, Site Supervision, Quality Assurance, Project Monitoring, Design Review, Stakeholder Coordination, Risk Management, Health and Safety. and any other related fields.
Skills: Analytical Negotiation, Resource Management, Team Supervision, Multicultural Collaboration, Strategic Policy Formulation, and Construction Project Management are required.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic is required.

Desirables

Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
Knowledge of UN Agency Experience, Public Procurement Knowledge, Green Building Standards, Emergency Response Experience, UNICEF Norms Knowledge, and Government Coordination Experience Is Considered Assets.
Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
