To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

Minimum requirements: |(Qualifications/Experience/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills)

Minimum requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or another directly relevant engineering discipline.
Professional standing: Current registration with a recognised professional engineering body.
Work Experience:
At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in electrical engineering and off-grid or hybrid solar photovoltaic systems.
At least five years' relevant experience, including demonstrated assignments involving design review, site assessment, BoQ preparation, equipment inspection, installation supervision, testing, commissioning or certification of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills: Strong knowledge of 5 kVA-class off-grid solar systems, lithium-ion batteries, inverters, PV arrays, cabling, earthing, surge and circuit protection, mounting systems and integration with existing installations; ability to interpret drawings and specifications; knowledge of applicable Zimbabwean electrical, occupational safety and solar installation requirements; competence in inspection, fault identification, test documentation, technical report writing and photographic record-keeping; sound judgement, independence, attention to detail and ability to work with government and contractor teams.
Desirables: Postgraduate or specialist training in renewable energy; recognised solar photovoltaic (PV) installer or inspection certification; experience with public infrastructure in remote areas, CRVS facilities, government works, Rural Electrification Authority (REA), Department of Public Works, UNICEF or another UN/development organisation; familiarity with procurement-related pre-delivery inspection and quality assurance; and a valid driver's licence where the consultant proposes to drive.
Languages requirements: Fluency in written and spoken English
