How can you make a difference?

This assignment aims to support UNICEF’s Migration and Displacement Hub in coordinating and implementing the Route-Based Approach (RBA) programme, which seeks to improve protection for migrant children, their families, and host communities along migration routes through cross-border collaboration and technical assistance. The consultant will provide coordination support, reporting, and other programme deliverables, working closely with UNICEF headquarters, regional and country offices, as well as key partners such as IOM and Save the Children. In addition, the consultant will contribute to documenting lessons learned and supporting UNICEF’s engagement in global and regional policy discussions to advance sustainable, rights-based solutions for children on the move.

Minimum requirements:

Education:
- Advanced university degree in Migration or Refugee fields of study/Political Sciences/Economics/ Development Studies and related disciplines
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in migration and displacement programme coordination
- Prior experience working with complex partnerships of UN/multilateral institutions.
- Previous experience with policy and data analysis and reporting with UNICEF or other UN agencies strongly preferred.
- Experience working in Ethiopia, Somalia, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt preferred
Language requirement:
- Fluency in English;
- Proficiency in French or Arabic an asset

• Skills:

Strong analytical and writing skills

Desirables:

A good understanding of migration and displacement policy issues, the Global Compact on Migration, SDGs
