DPSS supports the overarching goals of the Department by setting standards and providing specialized support to UNSMS operations in the areas of physical security, training, coordination of close protection services, critical incident stress management, and the promotion of road safety. It also takes the lead in the department’s innovations and digital transformation. and information management. The Division is critical in leveraging resources and expertise to enable the UN’s work around the world in support of the Department’s goals and objectives. The duration of the internship is for a period of three (3) to six (6) months, depending on the needs of the Department. The internship is UNPAID and is designed to be full-time (35 hours per week) and in person at the duty station. It can however be adapted to accommodate remote/hybrid arrangements and/or part-time arrangements (20 hours per week) on an exceptional basis at the request of the successful candidate. The intern will work under the supervision of a staff member in the office to which they are assigned. Within assigned authority, the intern is expected to undertake the following duties:
