Duties and Responsibilities

These positions are located in the Publications & Conference Management Section (PCMS), Administration and Conference Management Division (ACMD). The interns will work under the overall supervision of the Chief Conference Planning and Coordination Services Unit (CPCSU) of the section and the direct supervision of Team Leader/Marketing. The internship is for six (6) months with the opportunity for extension depending on the needs of the Section. The interns will work full-time five days per week (34 hours per week). Responsibilities:

  • Draft promotional content for websites, emails, and print media (brochures, flyers, and sales collateral).
  • Conduct basic market research, update Online information, and maintain accurate records within sales and marketing databases.
  • Assist in planning outreach activities and promotional events, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, provide product and pricing information, and manage customer records to ensure excellent service.
  • Support day-to-day administrative operations, including phone and email communications, order processing, invoicing, and billing/shipping logistics.
  • Assist with data collection and basic reporting to track marketing performance and sales trends.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) both at the time of application and during the internship; or applicants pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages must have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D.
