These positions are in the Publications & Conference Management Section (PCMS) within the Administration and Conference Management Division (ACMD) in the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Head of the Conference Planning & Coordination Services Unit (CPCSU), and the direct supervision of the Associate Public Information Officer, he/she will be responsible for the following duties:
- Greet and receive visitors to the campus in a friendly and approachable manner - be an ambassador and leader in the Africa Hall Visitors Centre.
- Conduct in-person and virtual tours by providing accurate information and directions to a variety of visitor-groups (tourists, students, VIPs, staff members, etc).
- Answer questions accurately whenever asked by visitors in an energetic, personable and friendly manner.
- Remain informed of new information and appropriately relay that message to visitors.
- Assist with marketing and communications related projects concerning the Africa Hall Visitors Centre by preparing and updating informational materials, coordinating communications content, and supporting promotional activities to engage and inform visitors.
- Remain alert and observant of visitors' safety and overall actions.
- Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
- Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
