Result of Service

The CCAC Super Pollutant Science Analytics Specialist will strengthen the CCAC Science Affairs team by improving the accessibility, usability and policy relevance of scientific data and analytical outputs generated through CCAC assessments and related activities. Through the development of analytical tools, data platforms and policy-relevant analytical products, the contractor will enable CCAC partners, policymakers and stakeholders to more effectively interact with and interpret modelling outputs and scientific evidence related to super pollutants. Overall, the consultancy will strengthen the CCAC’s ability to translate complex scientific outputs into accessible analytical tools and policy-relevant insights that support the Coalition’s mission to accelerate action on super pollutants and near-term climate mitigation.

Duties and Responsibilities

The UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society. The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone. The CCAC Science Affairs team plays a central role in supporting the Coalition’s science-policy interface by coordinating scientific advisory activities, supporting major global assessments, and translating scientific findings into policy-relevant insights and analytical tools that support partner decision-making. As the CCAC expands its scientific assessments and analytical outputs—including the Global Methane Status Report, new integrated climate and clean air assessments, and science-policy intelligence systems such as the CCAC NDC Tracking Database—there is an increasing need to manage, analyse and translate complex modelling outputs and datasets into accessible analytical products and tools for a wide range of stakeholders.
