How can you make a difference?

With strong background in financial and budget management, the Budget Officer serves as key focal point on budget planning, monitoring and reporting for Programme and Fundraising to ensure the office achieves our goals for children, especially those in critical needs.

There are two main components:

- Under the direct supervision of the PMR Specialist, carries out a variety of specialized tasks in support of the preparation, monitoring and control of budgets, support to HACT management and monitoring, management of donor grants, data analysis and capacity building, quality assurance PCA budget reviews and risk management identification.

- Under the supervision of Chief PSFR, providing support financial analysis on Income and expenditure PSFR budgets, quarterly reporting and forecasting; annual RER report, RR and regional thematic remittances to NYHQ and RO, and effective use of both investment funds and PSFR cost charging, all of which need careful management and oversight. This role is responsible for ensuring that the whole PFP conducts its business according to UNICEF policies and best practice financial management, whilst also setting and following (or adapting) annual plans and budgets.

For Programme:

1. Budget Monitoring and Support:

- Support the monitoring of resource utilization and programme implementation performance against approved work plans, donor agreements, Direct Cash Transfers (DCTs), and cooperation projects.
- Compile and analyse budget and expenditure data to identify trends, variances, and potential funding gaps, and escalate findings to the supervisor.
