How can you make a difference?

UNICEF’s Immunization Programme has entered the new UNICEF Strategic Plan (2026–2029) and Gavi 6.0 Strategy (2026–2030) periods with a significantly reduced workforce, including an approximately 50 per cent reduction at global and regional levels and at least a 35 per cent reduction at country level. At the same time, the programme is operating in a rapidly evolving environment, marked by a more constrained health ODA and donor financing context, the roll-out of UNICEF’s Child Survival and Development Centre of Excellence, increased demand for timely evidence, learning and strategic positioning across internal and external engagements, and more frequent and granular reporting requirements to Gavi.

In this context, UNICEF must be able to rapidly synthesize country, regional and global evidence into clear, audience-specific products that inform programme decisions, donor and partner engagement, global governance discussions, and donor and corporate reporting. This requires dedicated analytical, synthesis, writing and packaging capacity to translate existing data, programme documentation and country learning into high-quality products for different audiences.

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide senior-level analytical, synthesis, writing and packaging support to the Immunization Section, with a focus on selected internal and external immunization engagements. The consultant will transform existing data, documentation, application reviews, programme updates, survey and literature findings, and team inputs into high-quality briefs, slide decks, messages, reports, workshop outputs and other communication products for UNICEF management, UNICEF Regional and Country Offices, the Gavi Secretariat, donors and other partners. The assignment is deliverable-based, time-bound and focused on defined outputs; it is not intended to perform a staff function.
